"Seed-less" Rotterdam

So I came home late after a long day out, and of course the first thing I did was check today's results of the Rotterdam Open to see how Nadal did, only to shockingly find out that the Spanish ace and the tournament's number one seed had handed his second round opponent, Andreas Seppi, a perfect birthday present as he lost to the unseeded Italian, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4!!

Seppi, who turned 24 today, had ousted 2004 Rotterdam champion, Lleyton Hewitt en route to his unprecedented win over Nadal.

Nadal's upset was one of many that took place on Thursday, as the tournament's 2nd, 3rd and 5th seeds were all sent packing today. Second-seeded Nikolay Davydenko fell to France's Michael Llodra, third-seeded David Ferrer slumped against German qualifier Mischa Zverev, while the number 5 seed, Tomas Berdych crashed out to Croatian giant, Ivo Karlovic.

The massacre of the seeds on Thursday, left the tournament without a single seed in the quarterfinals as Mikhail Youzhny (4th-seed), Andy Murray (6th-seed) and Marcos Baghdatis (8th-seed) had all suffered early first round exits.

I have one thing to say... What the heck happened today??!?!
