"Unbreakable" Roddick !

What can I say?!?! Andy Roddick continued to stun the tennis audience worldwide with his performance at the Dubai Tennis Championships this past week (okay sorry, Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships, and for the last time, thank you Dubai Duty Free).

The former world number one succeeded in clinching the Dubai title on his first appearance there, without conceding a single service game throughout the entire week.

Besides not being broken once in 66 service games, the big-serving American ousted the world's second and third ranked players - Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - en route to his massive victory over Feliciano Lopez of Spain in the final.

Roddick, who was mostly firing 220+km/hr serves all week, dropped the first set to the Spaniard after squandering a 4-1 lead in the tie-break. However Lopez - who himself hit 24 aces during the final - lost control in the second set as he dropped his serve to allow Roddick to serve for the set at 5-4.

Lopez's fine form at the net that saw him winning the majority of his net points and helped him rout 3 top-ten players this week, had started to desert him in the final set as Roddick stepped up his groundstrokes and continued his serving crusade to clinch the final set 6-2 and claim his second title of the season.

"This is as well as I have ever played..." said the 25-year-old American after his victory and I personally couldn't agree more.

Cheers!

(Okay Roddick knocked out my favorite two players Rafa and Nole. So for me to write something like this about him... he must have been pretty damn impressive!! We gotta know what this guy has for breakfast to keep slammin those serves :D)
