RG Day 6 Tidbits

* The 2008 French Open became Williams-less on Friday as both Williams sisters crashed out of the third round. Fifth-seeded Serena fell to Katarina Srebotnik (seeded 27) 6-4, 6-4, while Venus slumped to Italy's Flavia Pennetta (seeded 26), 7-5, 6-3.

* Schwank's run at the Open came to an abrupt end when home favorite and Roland Garros' 18th-seed, Paul-Henri Mathieu, battled past the young Argentine in four sets, coming through 11-9 in the fourth set tie-break.

* It was an ecstatic day for the French as three other locals made it to the fourth round, Jeremy Chardy, Julien Benneteau, Florent Serra and Michael Llodra.

* 19th-seeded Nicolas Almagro eliminated 10th-seeded Andy Murray in four sets to set up a fourth round clash against Chardy.

* Nadal and Djokovic both secured their fourth round spots with comfortable straight sets wins.
