FOOTBALL: Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern, Villareal Through in Champions League

19 goals were scored on the first day of the last-16 second leg matches in the Champion’s League!! What a day!!

First of all I’d like to say… YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE :)

What a crushing performance from Liverpool against Real Madrid?!?! I didn’t catch the first 3 minutes of the match and when I sat down on my friend’s couch I realized I had already missed like 3 shots on target including an unbelievable missed chance by the legendary Fernando Torres, who was 1-on-1 with the goalie, and an incredible shot by Mascherano which was saved by the fingertips of Casillas. And that was the first 3 minutes. Imagine how the rest of the match was. Not a good week for the Spaniards who were held by their archrivals Atletico Madrid last weekend in La Liga.

Liverpool 4 - 0 Real Madrid Highlights

About the whole 12-1 aggregate score Bayern Munich pummeled Sporting Lisbon with, the first question that comes to mind is: How the hell did Sporting Lisbon qualify to the last 16 to begin with?!?! What a disgrace?!?!

Chelsea are through after drawing Juve today in Torino but I gotta give a shout-out to both Iaquinta and Trezeguet for pulling off that brilliant one-two to score the first goal of the night for Juventus. That was a beautiful effort from both players.

Check the goals here:

And finally, Villareal overcame Panathinaikos and are through to the quarterfinals. Let’s see if the remaining Spanish teams, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, will make it tomorrow.
