"I'll be rooting for her. I think she has a chance this year especially when she's coming in with great confidence."
"She's playing really well. She had a week off. She's ready. She has been through two (Grand Slam) finals. Now is the time. The third time is the winning one. I'm pretty sure."
-- Former world number 1, Marat Safin, speaks of his sister, current world number 1, Dinara Safina, and he chances of winning this year's French Open.
Safin, a two-time Grand Slam champion himself, won his opening round match on Sunday against a French wildcard, while Safina will open her Roland Garros campaign first on Philippe Chatrier against Great Britain's Anne Keothavong at 11:00 a.m. Paris time.
I am certainly liking Safina's chances at the French Open this year. The 2008 runner-up is coming off back-to-back titles in Rome and Madrid and also made it to the finals in Stuttgart.
The Russian star could face defending champion, Ana Ivanovic [8], in the quarters, Venus Williams [3] in the semis, before any of the likes of Serena Williams [2], Jelena Jankovic [5], Elena Dementieva [4] or Svetlana Kutznetsova [7] await her in the final.
